If You Can’t Love Yourself, How the Heck Are You Going To Love Someone Else?!
Love yourself; you’ve been told that over and over, but how? It may not come naturally, and it may not be obvious, what then?
What if you were raised to think that taking care of yourself, and any focus on yourself at all was the height of selfishness and arrogance, even though that is patently false? What if you have been raised to think that only married people are worthy of praise and love, and you are single? We get so many socialized and psychologically conditioned messages not to love ourselves, to send all of our love and energy outwards in some vain hope that a little scrap will come back our way. This is so backwards, and keeps us ripe for exploitation and control.
Even if you know why you should love yourself; it will get you a relationship, improve your health, you will be 30% smarter, your home will be more beautiful, and so on and so forth, how to love yourself is so essential, and elemental to your life that you need to learn this skill.
