Metallic waves, late afternoon sun on the pacific ocean, this time of day under the towering cliffs of Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California is always a peaceful contemplative time.
In the late afternoon the glints of silver and steel on the ocean turns the gemstone array of sapphires and aquamarines into a metallic glittering display. We’re so lucky today that not only do we get to enjoy the beautiful moody late-afternoon skies here on the beach, but we enjoy dinner on the La Jolla peninsula with an unbelievable panoramic view of the sunset on the Pacific ocean.
This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset and be bathed in the sound of the waves. When the coastal inversion returns after the glorious sunny day, the rays of light and colorful reflections create an incredible living canvas of art. It’s so wonderful to be here when the sea is calm and the waves are just gently lapping at the soft sound, it’s the most soothing sound in the world to me, the second being the desert breeze rustling through the palms.
It’s been an incredible day on the coast here in Torrey Pines and La Jolla, and I’m so glad that we were able to explore my favorite beach together.
